What is a good Hualien itinerary without a car?

Train to Hualien, Tourist Shuttle 310 to the Taroko Visitor Center with a stop at Qixingtan, and dinner at Dongdamen Night Market. With two days, add whale watching or a chartered day deeper into the gorge.
